Lavender Rabbit by Steiff - 34cm

Steiff

Catalogue number: 007033

In 1919, following post-war shortages of mohair and wool, Steiff began to create bears from alternative materials. Steiff's Teddies for Tomorrow series pays homage to these bears that were inadvertently created from more eco-friendly and sustainable materials following these shortages. Following in the footsteps of her predecessors in this series made from paper, hemp, bamboo and linen fabrics, Lavender is the first adorable rabbit in this series and is crafted from the finest bamboo viscose and cotton velvet fabrics. She has endearing eyes that feature a gold framed iris and delicately airbrushed eyelids. Lavender is filled with stuffing created from recycled PET bottles. Lavender has gorgeous oversized ears, long limbs and is loosely jointed to showcase her cheerful character. She proudly wears a distinguished polished brass motif chest tag.

Building on the heritage of bears made like this over 100 years ago, Lavender boasts the distinctive design qualities of a traditional Steiff rabbit, as well as a modern, ethical and eco-friendly attitude to production.

Limited to only 2020 pieces, she comes with her numbered certificate in a Steiff gift box with its original protective cardboard outer sleeve.
