Keys by Charlie Bears - 53cm

Charlie Bears

Catalogue number: CB205240

Keys is inspired by The Yale of Beaufort, which was a mythical goat-like creature who was white with golden spots and had the tusks of a boar and was said to be able to swivel each of its horns independently. The Yale was given great prestige and symbolic meaning by Henry VII, who inherited it from Lady Margaret Beaufort, who was a matriarch of the Tudor dynasty.

Charlie Bears have created this regal creature from soft white plush with golden spots. He has beautifully sculpted hooves and amazing golden horns that actually swivel!

Keys is part of The Queen's Beasts Collection by Charlie Bears that celebrates the ten creatures that guard the entrance to Westminster Abbey, where Her Majesty the Queen of England was crowned in 1953. After the coronation, they were moved to the Canadian Museum of History in Quebec. Each beast supports a shield bearing a coat of arms of a family associated Queen Elizabeth II and her ancestry.

Keys is part of an individually number edition of just 2,000 pieces.
